Generation and characterization of human neural stem cells (NSCs) and human neurons from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs). Figure (A) shows a hiPSC colony. Images B-D show the expression of nestin (B), Sox-2 (C), and both nestin and Sox-2 counterstained with DAPI (D) in NSCs derived from hiPSCs. Figures (E-H) and (I-L) respectively illustrate mature neurons derived hiPSC lines 1 and 2 (iNeurons 1 and 2) immunostained with microtubule-associated protein-2 (MAP-2; E-F, I-J) and neuron-specific nuclear antigen (NeuN; G-H, K-L).
